Natural medicine and house remedies should never be considered proper medicine; however, they are almost there.

You see, when your grandma tells you to drink warm water with honey or apply mustard oil near nostrils, she isn't trying to get you. She is trying to help; in ways that helped her. This is because, in one way or another, those treatments work. You will never know why they worked and how they worked, you just know they worked. Which was good enough for olden times when people used to believe women having periods were curse of gods.

But since we know grandma's remedies works, we can sell them right? Give them a homely name, like 'Grandma's Natural Healing Drink'. This might attract some but not all. That is because while you MAY want to sell that product as medicine, and you know it works as a medicine, it isn't considered as one.

In order for Grandma's Natural Healing Drink to be considered medicine, follow these steps:

1. Get a large crowd of even number of people who have that illness you are tying to solve. The bigger the crowd, the better.

2. Divide the crowd randomly into 50%/50%

3. Give one half the medicine and give other half placebo (Plain water, saline, nothing that affects the body in any meaningful way)

4. Observe the crowd. Are the people getting your product healing quicker than people on placebo?

5. If the answer is yes, document all this properly with proper citations. Do not plagiarize.

Congratulations! You now have modern medicine! Continue selling your Grandma's Remedies and if anyone asks, show them the research.

That's it, really. That is the actual process of making modern medication. All you need is a piece of document detailing the above given experiment. It doesn't even have to be 100s of pages long. Just enough to fit all the data gathered during the experiments.

And well, technically, there is bit more. For example, in actual studies, the researchers will try to find the exact components off your product that helps the patient so they can end up making a more potent drug. But the idea remains same-ish. There are several steps actually, which are required to get FDA approval. But we are not going into actual medicinal approval in this essay.

Second August in a row where I have to deal with the possibility that I may have cancer.

Ive been taking my tb meds as adviced yet it still grows in size. 

I haven't started panicking yet, I guess I just haven't realized I may have cancer that can bankrupt or kill me.

Or maybe it's just a false flag and tb is just taking longer to fix. 

Whatever the fact, and whatever the fiction, I am tired of living life like this. I miss the days when first thing I used to do was reply to her in morning instead of stopping alarm and taking meds.

The toaster that was a submarine

a sentient toaster is sad for his life is bread. he aspires to brew tea for he is built using retired submarine's parts. he can not take it anymore and inches closer to edge of table. there he throws himself off the table. however, his cord is still attached to socket and he hangs. he thinks and considers his life. he started as a mere piece of rock embedded in some cave. he was taken out by hairless apes who morphed him into sea fairing vessel where he saw worlds he could never had. he then got scrapped and repurposed into a toaster and bought into a new home. it is now where he realizes that his life isnt boring because he a toaster now, his life is exciting because apes who let him see the world underwater utilize him to bring joy in their life. his job of cooking bread brings joy to small and big apes alike. he is content and no longer suicidal. but the socket is old, it unplugs and toaster falls and to the ground. he is taken to repairman who couldn't fix him. he is scrapped. but this time he isnt sad. he is happy for he knows this is opportunity to see the world again, even if the perspective changes again.

youtube thumbnail aesthetics

I was just watching youtube and I saw a thumbnail and thought… you ever click on a youtube video because of the thumbnail? I mean the thumbnail not the title. Not the description. Good thumbnails are fucking everything. They get me every damn time. I don’t care what the title says if that thumbnail looks nice, im clicking it and not even reading the title. 

Ive clicked on some videos just because the thumbnail was good or had text that was very intriguing. The video might not be intriguing or engaging or good but the thumbnail made me click it. But when the thumbnail is trash, im talking utter poopy garbage, I don’t even wanna get close to it. My mouse cursor might get dirty if I hover over it and id have to go to devientart to find new ones. It sometimes offs me from the entire channel. sure, photoshop is not something everyone knows how to use but even ms paint can yield better results than doo doo tier thumbnails ive laid my eyes upon for last few months.

The worst part is that its all the same stuff. Big ass face, overedited background “YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE HE SAID THAT”. Buddy, I can totally believe someone said those words that you are referring to that’s how humans work we speak.

About faces though, sometimes they add to thumbnail. Ive clicked some video specifically because youtuber was on thumbnail. I believe this words great especially if you already have a good subscriber base. I can look at a thumbnail and go ‘yeah that’s Rhett and link,’ or ‘yep that’s erik from internet comment etiquette, I see his new video is out’. But when it comes to faces like a guy with his mouth gaping and 100 arrows pointing to something or when face is clearly been heavily edited in photoshop or background is just cgi on a video that is supposed to be not cgi, it puts me off.

And yes I know there exist an extension called De-arrow that removes this stuff but it removes all of this stuff, even the good ones. It also changes the title to be less clickbaity. But the fatal flaw with this is that most of the times I really don’t care about thumbnail from actual video or non clickbaity title. My doors are open for you to exploit me by showing my the most clickbait title or thumbnail possible but please atleast make it look good.

Also, make sure your text on thumbnail is large. Sometimes you put text that might look large on photshop when a single image is taking over the entire screen but when it get smooshed down to tiny size in home page, it becomes hard to read and I may be 25 but my eye sigh is 85 (that’s age not score)
